Capturing Your Moments: Premier Northern Ireland Wedding Photographer

Planning your wedding?

Then you’re going to need a wedding planning checklist. Whether you’re a free-spirited soul or you just like to move and see where things take you, you’re going to need one. Your wedding is going to be one of the most important days of your life. You need a plan, and you should have a rough sketch of things put down so you can know that things are coming along fine.
There is also the fact that with a checklist, you can plan and handle things better so that you do not wear yourself and your partner out. Have your activities broken down into manageable chunks and then start a to-do list reflecting that. You can either do this using an app or if you like something a little more tangible, get a calendar and write things down. Here’s a wedding planning checklist that you can use and tailor to fit your wedding.

6 WEEKS BEFORE

  • GET YOUR MARRIAGE LICENSE READY

Your celebrant could also help with this but make sure it’s official. You’ll most likely find all the information that you need concerning this on your government website and how you can get the papers. There may be a waiting period so give allowance for that too.

  • CONFIRM WITH ALL YOUR VENDORS

Send in final numbers, make sure they’re prepared and remind them if necessary, of your date and venue. Ensure to confirm that there has been no miscommunication and that everything is the way you want it.

  • SEND OUT YOUR INVITATIONS

It’s time to let your guests know that your wedding is happening officially and share finer details of the day too.

3 WEEKS BEFORE

  • FINALISE YOUR SEATING

By now, you’ll know who is coming and with whom. You can then arrange everyone in the best way possible.

  • SCHEDULE A HAIRCUT AND A FACIAL

The big day is getting closer, and you need to look as fresh as possible, it’s time to treat yourself!

2 DAYS BEFORE

  • YOU NEED YOUR REST

Your wedding party, planner and vendors should be able to handle everything from here on. You need to relax so that you’re not looking stressed at your wedding.

  • PAMPER YOURSELF SOME MORE

Treat yourself to a fresh manicure and pedicure so that you’ll be ready and set for the day.

  • PUT TOGETHER AN EMERGENCY KIT

This kit will be with your maid of honour and should include little essentials that you might need on your wedding day. Things like mints, tweezers, bobby pins, hair ties, hair spray, blotting paper, makeup, sewing kit, tissues, perfume, baby wipes, fashion tape, clear polish, Panadol and most importantly, the wedding day itinerary and phone numbers of all vendors!

On your Wedding day

Make sure you get enough rest the night before, get up early and decide you’re going to have the best day of your life yet. Best of luck!

PLAN THE BEST MICRO WEDDING IN NORTHERN IRELAND!

The wedding planning process has changed significantly in 2020.  I’m here to share some good news, and give you the tips that I’ve learned over the past few months. Who am I? I’m Eddy and I’m a wedding photographer from Ballymoney area.

I’ve been working with my couples since March to re-plan their weddings. Along the way, I’ve learned a number of things. For the past number of years, I’ve watched wedding guest counts (and price tags!) get really out of hand when planning. In my experience, this is usually due to family pressure. At some point, a lot of my couples have started to feel like it’s not even their wedding any longer. That they’re along for the ride.

THIS IS YOUR EXCUSE TO HAVE THE WEDDING YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO.

HERE’S A FEW BONUS TIPS!

1. SMALL IS BETTER

You now have full control over the guest list. You get to invite the most important people in your life to be there, and you actually have time to be with them.

 2. YOU GET TO SPEND TIME WITH EVERYONE THERE

Traditionally, it’s actually rare for my couples to actually talk to everyone that attends their wedding.

With a smaller wedding, you can now spend time with everyone you’ve invited.

 3. YOU CAN NOW GET MARRIED ANYWHERE

This is one of the most exciting things with micro weddings – you can get married anywhere.

You no longer have to look for hall to accommodate a certain guest count, while also meeting the budget.
Now you get to be creative. Some of my couples are getting married in forests, in front of waterfalls, and at restaurants that would not have been possible with a larger guest count.

My Suggestions

PICK YOUR DREAM LOCATION.

There are no longer any rules to where you should have your ceremony. Parks, locations, and businesses are all really going out of their way to be super accommodating these days, and that makes your life a lot easier. Spend some of the money you’re saving on bringing in great vendors. Budgets usually get stressed really thin because of the number of guests at the wedding. This is your excuse to involve all of the vendors you would want to have for your dream wedding. Set up an on location dinner, or move to a restaurant. With smaller guest counts, it’s now possible to set up a small reception wherever you’d like. Again, whatever your dream location is for this, this is probably the only year that it will be possible to do.

TO GET THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHS:

Schedule your ceremony when it’s good for photos. 2 hours before sunset will give us the best light for photos.

Hire a photographer (me!) for 8-10 hours. That will cover a little of the getting ready, the ceremony, family photos and photos of the two of you. My photography is primarily candid, so it’ll be a more relaxing experience than you might think right now. Safety in this time is a priority for me. I will respect all current local rules.

If you’re interested in working together, please send me a note in the contact form below, and I’ll get back to you within 24 hours.

Frequently asked questions

I’m a Northern Irish Wedding and family photographer most passionate about capturing moments here on the Emerald Isle of Ireland. I cover weddings all over Northern Ireland but Don’t be afraid to ask me if you’re planning a destination wedding or a wedding at the very bottom of Ireland because I travel there too.

I offer three main packages that include a lovely range of bespoke items such as, prints and albums. I also have a new micro wedding package for coverage up to four hours. Use the contact form to get in touch for prices.

Yes, you can upgrade at any time to another package before your wedding day. Just give me some notice.

Yes and they are beautiful – a must have heirloom piece to cherish. You can order an album directly from your gallery after your wedding or choose a package that includes an album. You will choose a selection of images and I will design the album layout. You’ll be able to check the layout and make a minor edit of your own if you want to. Parent size albums are available too.

As long as you want. Typically coverage begins in the morning at the bride’s house and you choose the rest depending on your plans. I find that a full day of coverage allows me to capture your day best, from start to finish. Couples also tend to book day after sessions, for that elopement look imagery, sunrise/sunset at an epic location, there are so many amazing options, make the most of your wedding dress and venture to a great location!

Absolutely! Let me know what you need help with, if you need vendor recommendations, and if there’s anything I can do to make the process easier for you!

I require a retainer to secure your spot on my calendar, and the remaining balance of 50% is due 30 days in advance for weddings & family portrait shoots. You can split these payments (up to 3 payments) if you’d like. I’m happy to work with your schedule!

Since I take on such a limited amount of jobs per year, I have a faster turnaround time than most photographers! The turnaround depends on how much I shoot, how busy I am, my travel schedule, and the holidays. Typically, for sessions it takes 3 weeks or less and weddings take 5 weeks or less. I try to get them back to you as soon as possible while making sure I give time to each and every image needs. If you don’t want to wait, I offer a ‘rush’ edit service too, get your images within days.

Heaven forbids this happens, as it would only happen if it were out of my control (act of god, illness, death, etc) but in this case I would find a replacement photographer (one of my two trusted colleagues) to take my place that I trust. For Covid/Isolation I will arrange my colleague to stand in for the day. I will still process and cull the wedding photos and deliver them/be in contact with you. I’ll still be your photographer.
